Connect and 64 bit PCs

If you are running a 64 bit operating system, the standard 64 bit Synergy Connect application will not be able to find the MYOB ODBC driver. The ODBC driver supplied by MYOB is designed for 32 bit operating systems, so we have created a specific application to help detect the MYOB ODBC.

Tip: This change is ONLY required if

The PC has a 64 bit operating system AND
The PC is used to run Synergy Connect for MYOB V19 (Classic)
This is not applicable if using MYOB AccountRight Live Connect. NEW 4.9.1

Create a second shortcut for 64 bit machines

Go to Start > Programs > Total Synergy.
Right Click SynergyX86 (Compatibility mode) > select Send to > Desktop.
Use this shortcut now on the desktop to run Synergy when using Connect.

This executable is required ONLY when running the sync between Synergy and your accounting package. At all other times the standard Synergy.exe should be used.

Using Windows 7?

MYOB released a patch in October 2009 to provide compatibility with Windows 7. You will need to run the above mentioned .exe (executable) as an Administrator. Click here to find out more.
